So, I have now seen the pilot through episode 9 of season 2 of Teen Wolf. I have some opinions on the show but I'll try my best to not have spoilers!
(Some of) THE ISSUES:
1. This show is such a tug-a-war between the empowerment of women and the marginalization of women.
2. The Teen part of this show is RIDICULOUS! They make over-the-top unsafe decisions. Skipping school and running into the woods with a boy you've gone on only 2 dates with while turning your cell phones off and then not returning until 9 or so pm is a TERRIBLE idea. The parents are also ridiculous.
3. The Romance bit is also ridiculous. I was so happy when both Jackson and Derek pointed that out to Allison and Scott. I'm sorry but saying "I love you" after a month and saying you can't live without a girl is so "13." Be a little bit more mature at 16 please.
4. Oh how very like CW Teen wolf is. The teen gals running around in 4-inch heels everyday. Listen, I went to a diverse and very large HS and there was maybe ONE girl at my HS whom wore heels nearly every day to school. Come on, AT LEAST Allison wore boots a few times. Also, why are even the "bullies" so stylish? Even the gym coach is more stylish than 50% of the guys were at my HS. Where are the "ghetto" kids? There's always at least 3-6 (in a "pack," pardon the sort of pun) at every HS in "America."
5. Why is everyone constantly lying to everyone else? If people just started telling their "friends" whom are in the know everything then shit would be WAY less complicated. I always think this is a sign of weaker writing.
(Some of) THE POSITIVE:
1. The bits of women empowerment.
2. The fun thrill of "teen werewolves."
3. The fashion. Go Teen Wolf stylists!
4. The fun times in making fun of the show.
5. The terrible acting that has its rare moments of good acting.
Overall I actually like the show decently and give it a B- or a 3/5. :)
Welcome! :)
Hi, I'm a third year at Los Medanos College. I'm living with my parents (ah! haha) for the next two years then I am back to a CA four year (probably a UC) to get my bachelor's degree in International Relations. :)
Hi, I am now a second year at Santa Rosa JC. Still technically undeclared and living in an apartment with my sister and a lady named Anne! Life continues! I will try to post! :)
